In additional to nutritional exams and questionnaires, we use Nutrition Response Testing, Applied Kinesiology, blood testing, hair analysis, saliva testing, and stool testing to determine the body needs and weaknesses.
What is Nutrition Response Testing?
Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) is a way of analyzing the body’s nutritional needs by muscle testing reflex points related to specific organs, or organ systems. NRT is a study of how the different points on the surface of your body relate to the state of health and to the flow of energy in each and every organ and function of your body.
By testing the NRT reflexes, we have a system of monitoring your body at each visit that has proven to be extremely accurate clinically, and that helps us identify what your body needs and how well sufficient we are meeting those needs.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied kinesiology (AK) is a diagnostic and treatment system using muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. When properly applied, the outcome of an AK diagnosis will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care.
In general, the applied kinesiologist finds a muscle that tests weak and then attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. The practitioner will then evaluate and apply the therapy that will best eliminate the muscle weakness and help the patient.
Therapies utilized can include specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, clinical nutrition, dietary management and various reflex procedures.
Allergy Testing and Food Sensitivity Testing
We use Immuno Laboratories in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it is widely recognized as one of the leading food and environmental allergy testing facilities in the world. Since its inception in 1978, the company has conducted over 29 million food sensitivity tests with 97% of its physicians testing for ten years or more — a clear indication of physician and patient satisfaction. The Immuno Bloodprint, based on a highly respected technique called the IgG Enzyme Linked Immunosorbant Assay (ELISA), can identify over 154 ‘trigger’ foods causing intolerance. Since white blood cells only remember the foods that were a problem for approximately two months, in most cases, the reactive foods can be gradually re-introduced into the diet.

This antibody assessment identifies food sensitivities by detecting IgG antibodies to 87 foods, as well as the option to detect IgE reactions to common food allergens, regional inhalants, molds, vegetables, and spices. Additionally, the assessment provides support for implementing an Elimination Diet based on the individual results. Zonulin protein levels may also be evaluated to identify levels of intestinal permeability, a marker found in conditions such as Celiac Disease, autoimmune conditions, irritable bowel syndrome, and a myriad of cardiometabolic diseases.
Our Food Inflammation Test (FIT Test) measures sensitivities to 132 different foods, coloring, and additives in the American diet by detecting both IgG antibodies and complement antigens for each substance in question. This test is performed in the comfort of your own home by performing a finger-prick to obtain the blood sample, rather than requiring a lab blood draw.
Additional testing can also be done for Candida Albicans (an overgrowth of a natural yeast that occurs in the body); gliadin sensitivities (the protein component of gluten); and Helicobacter Pylori (the causative agent for most cases of gastritis, duodenitis and ulcers). IgE testing for harmful environmental substances such as molds, dust, weeds, pet dander, etc., can also be performed.
Toxic Metal Testing
As toxic metals are common poisons in the body, testing can be done using hair samples to determine if a heavy metal burden exist and to what degree these metals are a problem. This can be done by hair analysis that is a “take-home” kit.
Hormone saliva testing tells us the amount of hormones in our body that are actually usable by our cells; whereas blood testing evaluates all circulating hormones regardless of their availability to our cells. Evaluating at the cellular level can often offer more information than traditional blood panels. We offer testing to determine female and male hormone balance and adrenal function.
A comprehensive stool analysis is a superb method of analyzing the environment of the gut and digestive system. This is a vital tool in analyzing any pathogenic bug that may be proliferating the digestive system as well as checking to be sure the gastrointestinal tract is housing the necessary substances to achieve optimal digestion, absorption and elimination.
All of these tools allow us to accomplish the goal of you having a strong, disease-resistant body that is able to properly withstand adverse stressors and conditions that are rampant in our environment. Our treatment programs are tailor-made for the individual’s specific needs. Our bodies are ever-changing organisms that require different treatments, disciplines and nutrition at the various phases of life. Engage in a proactive lifestyle!
